It’s all coming up aces, golden aces.

Hello World!

Welcome to the inner thoughts of me, Sara, a 27-year-old whose main passions in life are reading, cooking, baking, being crafty, thrifting, travelling, trying my best at being a good inhabitant of earth, hiking, and being cosy. If I could live in the Shire, I would. I am the perfect candidate for being a hobbit.

Over the years, since my teenage days, I’ve come close to starting a blog multiple times. But the fear of failing kept getting in my way. I’ve decided I’m going to do it anyway. To compile all the inner workings of my brain to share with others who, like me, value a really good cookie, collected spaces, the art of not using the big light, try their best at sustainable living, and love an adventure.

I’m currently in a transition in my life, having spent most of my 20s trying a career path in education that I was good at, but never felt right in. I was doing what I thought I had to do rather than what I wanted to do, and it was taking a toll on me, chipping away at my inner joy. Then, a year ago, I had a wake-up call in the form of an incident at work. I realized life is short, and I need to grab on to joy and to make my dreams a reality.

Over the past year, I have had quite the adventure. I moved to Ireland in May with the intention of being there for two years in a spot with a bunch of roommates, but it wouldn’t matter because I would be splitting my time between working and going on adventures. I had always dreamed of travelling the rest of the world, and this was my chance! After almost three years of living alone in my perfectly imperfect attic apartment, I would have a swarm of roommates, but I was ready to do what I needed to make this lifelong dream happen.

However, things didn’t go to plan. Due to Ireland’s housing crisis, my stellar resume, designed for a career in education rather than retail, I was in Ireland for five months. An amazing five months full of seeing the beautiful country, visiting family (the reason for picking the country) and two and a half weeks travelling through France. But not the two years I had envisioned. So, I pivoted. Before coming home in October, I went on a trip trying to check off as many countries as I could before coming home to Canada. I went to England for a short but lovely visit with a cousin, who lives in Liverpool. From there, I went to Belgium, the Netherlands, got stuck in Germany for a day, but eventually made it to Denmark, then Sweden and ended in Norway. *Big sigh* It was busy, but it was wonderful!

Now, I’ve been back home with my parents for almost three months. Trying to plan out my next move. I know I loved living in Europe and would like to continue doing that, and that I wanted to start a blog to document this wild adventure I’m on.

More is yet to come, it’s cooking, it’s simmering, it’s loading. But till then, here’s my vision boards I’ve made for myself for 2026, filled with plenty of easter eggs of what’s to come!
